Promar was established in 1989. It started as a completely different company named TESTA. As a part of the license obtained in the 1980's for linked transactions and having received the permission from the Ministry of Foreign Trade, the company started importing supplies for the meat processing industry in exchange for export of mushrooms. This is how Andrzej Marchewka, together with his partner Jan Pietrucha, started their adventure in the meat processing industry. The late 1980's and the early 1990's was a time of intensive sale of machines and development of professional service capabilities. This produced solid foundations for future growth of Promar.
In 1999, Promar joined the structures of Poly-Clip System GmbH, thus receiving access to knowledge and technology from the entire world and support for further growth. As a subsidiary of one of the largest corporations in the sector, Promar strengthened its position in the industry.
In the same year, Promar celebrated its 10th anniversary.
1999 was also the year of extension of the professional Service Center in Rybnik.
Promar started cooperation with the Handtmann corporation, a leading global manufacturer of vacuum fillers. On that occasion, presidents and owners of meat processing plants from all over Poland and representatives of sectoral organizations and journalists interested in the meat processing industry met at the Mazurkas Conference Center in Ożarów Mazowiecki near Warsaw. Since then, both the Machinery Sales Department and the professional Service Center have successfully specialized in comprehensive supply of Handtmann equipment and machines to meat processing plants.
In the same year, Promar acquired BJ Products, a producer of spice mixtures. Year after year, the food industry additives segment continues to grow and is becoming a more and more important part of Promar's offer.
Exactly one year after the foundation stone laying ceremony, the ribbon-cutting and official opening ceremony took place at the Promar plant in Zawiercie. The food additives production facility located in the Economic Activity Zone is one of most modern plants of this type in Poland. In a 6,000 sq.m. site there is a production building, a storage building, several laboratories, an R&D department, and an Application Center.
Since its opening, the plant has had a BRC certificate.
In that year, Promar had its own stand for the first time at the meat processing industry's most important trade fair IFFA in Frankfurt. We invited our visitors to discover the "OTHER SIDE OF TASTE." The trade fair concept was based on three key distinguishing characteristics - our strengths: secret knowledge, stability, and lack of allergens. It was a hit! The trade fair gave us a lot of satisfaction and enabled us to find over ten new distributors of our products!
A symbolic ribbon-cutting ceremony initiated the operation of the Promar Service Center in a new location in Czerwionka-Leszczyny. The new Center is a modern facility located close to a motorway. In addition to a fully automated spare parts warehouse and a convenient base for service technicians working in the field, the Center has two conference rooms and two show rooms suitable for displaying machines in operation. This provides excellent conditions for training sessions and conferences for our customers.
The Zawiercie Plant won the Kosher and Halal certificates for selected items in its assortment for the first time.
Promar started construction of a modern silo building with the surface area of over 360 m2. The building will contain 12 silos with the capacity of 50 cu.m. each. This will enable storing over 400 tons of ingredients in appropriate conditions. An automatic system for weighing and transport of ingredients directly to mixers will make the production process much more effective and faster.
In the summer, the 15th Jubilee Poland's Food Industry Tennis Championship was held. The tournament, organized by Promar since 2003, takes place each year in the Mazury region.
The Zawiercie plant obtained the IFS certificate.
In May, for the second time, we took part at the Iffa Exhibition in Frankfurt am Main. In December - for the first time we participated at the FIE in Paris.
In February Promar has completed the construction of a modern silo room with an area of over 360 m2. There are 12 silos with a capacity of 50 m3 each. They allow storage of over 400 tons of raw materials. An automatic system of weighing and transporting raw materials directly to mixers simplified and accelerated the production process.
In September, we laid the foundation stone for another investment in Zawiercie. This time we are building "Taste Academy" - the new headquarters of the R&D Department.
After 30 years of dynamic development, Promar has made a strategic decision to split into two independent organization: Promar PPH Sp. z o.o. and Promatec Sp. z o.o.
